Well, it's been a while. My life has been pretty fucking busy, so here's just a quick entry.
I recently started listening to Lucero. They are unbelievably amazing. Southern Rock-meets-Country-meets-Punk. Ben Nichols whiskey-soaked voice is sublime, and just adds to the simple, yet effective, music that ties it all together. If you're wanting a chill, you can listen to them, but they also have the odd upbeat song. The lyrics are ones of heartbreak, then the joys of being alive. Honestly, if you have a minute check them out (if you haven't already). The album "Tennessee" has been mostly played on my iTunes/iPod, and I suggest you do the same.
"Sweet Little Thing, constant in my thoughts..."
... And You Will Know Me By The Trail Of Bread
My ramblings. You love it, really.

Mudafuckas, I got inked!
Picture the scene, Edinburgh 20th November, just seen the Gaslight Anthem rock the shit out of the HMV Picturehouse the night before, and now driving around Edinburgh trying to find a tattoo place to get my first tattoo. Thankfully, I wasn't alone.
Daryl, Shiggs and Paul were with me. Paul didn't get inked, and the rest of us got the same tatt. In different places, obviously.
That's actually Shigg's, his is inside right bicep, mine is inside left, Daryl's is right arm, underneath the two moles. Haha.
It means alot to me, especially staying true to yourself, friends and family. That's my take on it, anyway. Also, the song is fucking amazing (It's by Deez Nuts, if you didn't know).
Anyway, the first of many to come!

Last year as a teenager. Fuck.
Well, I turned 19 on Saturday, my last year as a teenager, and still so much to do. Fuck, better get going, then.
Anyway, three of us from the band made a video. We switched around instruments. I went on Sticks, and the bassist Daryl took over acoustic guitar. We practiced once, and this is what we got.
Ego (Acoustic Cover)
Tomorrow, Daryl is coming round and we're gonna try and lay some tracks down. We're looking at a gig in January as having 2 original songs done. Making a 5-6 song set. Hopefully it can be done.
Give the video a watch, and leave a comment letting me know what you think, it will be greatly appreciated. Constructive criticism is definitely welcomed.

Bored? Blog!
Well, if there was any an excuse to write something here, now is the time. I'm sitting here, it's 23:22 and I'm bored out of my skin. FIFA is on in the background, but I've just about had enough of it. Now, it's time to do the thing I love most: Speak Shit.
I've decided on my first tattoo. Me and three other mates are going to see The Gaslight Anthem in Edinburgh on the 19th of this month, so three of us are getting "Stay True" tattooed somewhere on our body. I'm gonna go for inside left bicep. So fucking excited, and it's gonna be the start of things to come.
I'm honestly so fucking bored.
Oh, Hat. My hat. Bought it in a little shop when I was in NYC. Only cost me $5, and it's fucking killer. I'll try and find a picture of a similar hat, because I'm too lazy to take a picture of the thing itself, and someone might try and replicate my look, fucking stalkers.
Looks very similar to that. It's fucking ace. Yeah, like mind-blowingly ace. When I strut into a room wearing Brian (named after Brian Fallon, and also Brian Johnson, who wear similar attire), Women swoon and Men think about attacking me with whatever blunt object is nearby. Fuck them. Haters hate.
I heard a song the other day and it is fucking beautiful, here you go. Watch it. Oooooh, how I wish I could write songs as simple, yet amazing as that. 9 Crimes - Damien Rice
This has to be the most unstructured blog of all time. Care. Going back to my motto- "Haters hate."
I wish I was a gangster.

Sleep isn't for the weak!
Well, I did it. I went against my word, and went to see Paranormal Activity 2. Fuck. That fucking thing got me jumping like shit. Although, now that I'm back home, I don't actually feel too bad. Thought I would struggle to get some sleep, but I'm actually in the mood to get my slumber on.
I'll play it safe and stick on The Hangover or something to fall asleep to, you know... Just in case.
Oh, watched "Due Date" before Paranormal Activity 2, and it was fucking hil-ah-rious. Zach Galifianakis* (not sure if that's how it's spelt, but I'm sure it's a pretty fucking great stab), always makes me laugh, and his beard is fucking killer.
Both films I recommend highly. Get on it, people!
*YES! I WAS FUCKING RIGHT, SUCK THAT SHIT.

Sleep is for the weak!
Ok. So i was forced, in no uncertain terms, to watch Paranormal Activity by my good, now to be ex, friend Scott.
Now, I had only previously, on two occasions, managed to get to the fucking freaky ass bit where she, well to be honest, most of the film is fucking freaky. Anyway, on a cold winter's night, I was made to watch this "film" (it should be classed as a form of torture, as I was on edge the whole time).
Fuck seeing number 2, and fuck sleeping tonight. That is fucking all.

I have a band, they play music.
For four two hour sessions, I've been playing music with four other really talented musicians. And I mean really talented. The singer in the band is a 16 year old girl, and honestly, her voice is amazing. The drummer is my mate from work, he's eccentric, just like any really good drummer is, and the bassist is a new mate of mine who has pretty much the same taste in music as me. The lead guitarist, though. Holy shit. He can fairly fucking play. Tabs? He don't need them. "Ah, stick the song on, and I'll work it out." Three minutes later and we're jamming away to "Gimme Shelter" by the Rolling Stones. I'm rhythm guitarist, and because the others in the band are so good, it means I really have to step up my game. It's good. It keeps me healthy.
Unfortunately, we don't have any of our own songs written yet, but I'm working on it. Also, we don't have a name. Oh, well. That can be the last thing we think of.
Anyway, this wasn't really keeping in tone with my other posts which were very light hearted. So, I think I'll take this serious note and write about my favourite bands.
The Gaslight Anthem
You know when you listen to a song, and you go "Wow! That's fucking cool, who's that band?" Well, watching Glastonbury 2009 (well, it was on in the background while I read Aberdeen Mad or something), I heard a Johnny Cash-meets-the Clash type song. A toe-tapping rhythm that made me watch the TV with intent. Seeing a guy with tattoos up to his neck, all down his arm, and on his knuckles, soulfully sing his way through a punk-meets-country beat was almost alien to me. I later found this song was called "Casanova, Baby" from the second album ("The '59 Sound") by a New Jersey band called "The Gaslight Anthem." Needless to say, this album hit me like a ton of bricks. The obvious influence from Motown, Punk-Rock and many others was right up my alley and, after catching the rest of their 20-Minute Glastonbury set, I quickly set about gathering the whole back catalogue. This opened me to a whole other host of bands that I normally wouldn't listen to, and for that I will forever be grateful to Brian Fallon, Alex R, Alex L and Benny.
Top 3 Songs:
1. Blue Jeans and White T-Shirts
2. Casanova, Baby
3. 1930
Against Me!
The DIY ethics of early Against Me! will forever be stuck with me. The simplicity, yet passion and Impact that are in the songs of "The Acoustic EP," "Reinventing Axl Rose," and "...As the Eternal Cowboy," will Always be stuck with me. The thought that a song can be as complicated as you like, but will not be truly great unless the lyrics mean something, the passion is pure and the attitude of doing what makes you feel happy is the most important aspect. I also love the fact that this band have explored new directions, and almost evolved their sound. People can call this "selling-out" or whatever bullshit they like, but to me, this band will always be so important to me, as they basically made me get off my ass and do something with my music.
Top 3 Songs:
1. We Laugh At Danger (And Break All The Rules)
2. Walking Is Still Honest
3. Joy
Deez Nuts
Rap/Hardcore Punk mix of the finest. JJ Peters is so fucking talented, doing all the tracks himself (with special guests). Formerly the drummer in I Killed The Prom Queen, he took to the mic and the result is just awesome. His "Fuck what you think" attitude and love for his friends will always be close to my heart, and I've tried to live by some of his morals, as they are actually very genuine. A close group of friends is vital.
Top 3 Songs:
1. Stay True
2. Sex Sells
3. I Hustle Everyday
These three bands are my favourites, but special mentions to AC/DC (made me fall in love with guitar and rock music), Bruce Springsteen (his story-telling and song-writing are second to none), Iron Maiden (made me fall in love with proper Heavy Metal), N.W.A (thanks to them, I love rap music) and Gallows (Punk. Proper British Punk).
I love MUSIC!
